Description
92 fragments. Max. dimension 10 x 11 cm; Min. dimension 2,5 x 1,5 cm.
Numerous layers of fabric are preserved, stacked neatly on top of one another. The threads appear extremely flattened in cross-section, suggesting that the fabric was likely pressed.

FURTHER DETAILS
Pattern
Multiple bands forming an overall pattern. Parallel bands consist of three threads of system 2, inserted into a single shed and separated by two sheds with single picks, following a 3:1:1:3 repeat. The sporadic introduction of two or five threads appears to be an error. Two fragments preserve groups of two and three threads of system 1 working together. The textile surface is characterised by vertical and horizontal bands in both the warp and weft directions. The arrangement in multiple overlapping layers, together with the condition of the fabric, limits the analysis of the pattern to the visible outermost layer.
Other features
The fragments preserve evidence of another significant element: knots attached to the threads of system 1, with free ends visible on the textile surface.
