Fault: every 4th thread of (2) ?weft rides over a specific thread of (1) ?warp, when it should pass under it (as seen from Side 1 – reversed on reverse) (fig 00); fault runs whole surviving length of fragment.
Very dark brown, ‘as other plain twills’ (JPW). 2 long edges straight (?cut); rectangular patch of heavy wear near one edge (fig 00), adjacent to patch of surface matting (?former nap)
