FURTHER DETAILS
Colours
Sewing yarn lighter brown than web.
Other features
Originally had a heavy nap on at least one side, but now nap-free on one (worn) side. Now in secondary use, but once perhaps cloak/cape.
Very ragged and degraded, with no original edges. One side only is obscured by nap, worn in patches, but still thick; other side nap-free, threadbare.

Sewing
Description
At one corner 2 parallel stitches (each probably a pair) of S-spun yarn (c.0.6mm thick) passes through web and round edge of fragment; lighter brown than web; function unclear. A thickened edge of cloth (roughly parallel to (1)) seems to be oversewn in weakish S-spun yarn, max.l. 50mm (shown in blue); very degraded, probably reinforcement of raw edge rather than a damaged selvedge.
