Colours Blue sewing yarns. Sewing yarn 2 pale and dark blue. Borders Starting border consists of 6 cords, over which warp passes. Each cord hard Z plied from 4 S single yarns. Warp taken as adjacent pairs into border after twisting (see drawing), but individual warps turn away from one another at edge into adjacent warp group. Width of starting border 7mm. Surviving length 120mm Now folded over and sewn back upon itself with Z plied S single cotton thread, worked Z. Other features The amalgam apparently consists of a long strip of the embroidered fabric and starting border, squeezed longitudinally and bound round with string 4mm thick, Z plied from many (uncountable) S single cotton threads.

Description Embroidery, on same cloth as starting border. Two lines of stitches in blue yarn, Z plied from S single cotton (yarn centres undyed) run parallel to the starting border and not far away. Lines 3mm apart, then 11mm further from starting border is a set of 3 lines adjacent to one another, worked in pairs, Z direction. Outer lines pale blue, central line dark blue. Yarns are a weak Z twisted pair of blue S single cotton yarns. The triple line turns back upon itself just short of a rolled hem, 4mm thick. Sewing thread: Z plied, S single cotton, on inner edge. Distances: outer edge of starting border is 40mm from first embroidered lines and 55mm from triple lines.
