Borders
Fringe: strands contain 4 S single warp yarns, 2 pairs, each Z plied together and S plied into one fringe strand. Each Z plied pair feeds from two adjacent warp threads (No leap-frogging of warp to regroup into pairs). Fringe length just over 85mm. Fringe strand ends in a tiny single knot. Only c.50mm of fringe survives weftwise.
Edges
Plain selvedge 160mm long.
Wa count at 40. Starts to become denser c.55mm from selvedge.
Selvedge type
simple
Other features
Fairly frequent knotting of warp overall.
One weft thread at selvedge has a large knot carefully knotted and wrapped to provide an anchor (?) for start of new weft thread insertion, but next shed has broken end, not returning loop, so knot may be weft repair. Neighbouring weft threads have intact returning loops.
Warp max. l. excludes fringe.
+ a lot of scraps that may belong to same fabric
