Medium brown; all edges now torn, 2 adjacent sides might have been cut. Now bare of any nap.
Loop in one corner of textile formed from detached strip (c.10-13mm wide) of same web, knotted at each end to body of cloth (internal diameter c.50mm) (shown in light grey): knot 1: separate strip of cloth (10-13mm wide) (in light grey) passes through small hole (c.15mm in diameter) near cloth edge and is knotted once, simply, round outer edge of hole; knot 2: same strip of cloth as in knot 1 (shown in light grey) is knotted simply round a projecting strip of main web (marked in dark grey), and is tucked into knot and ends there.
Detached extra fragment of same textile: (1) max.l. c.60mm, (2) max.l. c.70mm
Function: utilitarian (carrying loop?) in secondary use
