Other features
Sys 2 (prob. We): a composite of one fine S twisted yarn, diam. 0.3mm and 2 thicker, virtually untwisted, strands of flax. Diam. 1.5mm over all.
c.20cm² in all
Looped (?) pile projects c.25mm. Pile yarn: S plied thread from 2 Z single yarns of badly prepared flax. (Z might be ply but ?underlying S strands are invisible, if they existed at all.)
Between rows of piles there are 11 shots of ground weft.
Base of pile strand appears to be wound twice round the warp group (see drawing).
Notes from the original description
Some spliced yarns in system 1.
