Reinforced selvedge: the weft thread passes out of the ground web over/under two pairs of warp yarns (possibly once a darker colour) around a third pair of dark S spun yarns and is wrapped a varying number of times (see drawing) around the 3rd outer pair and then in each case around the inner single of the outer pair before returning (with a float) around the 2nd two pairs and into the ground web.
