Pondera RO151 bone spindle/distaff

Catalogue number Pondera RO151 Inventory number IG36905 Holding institution Adria, Museo Archeologico Nazionale Description Bone fragment, hypothetically attributable to a distaff. The shaft has a circular cross-section, reaching its maximum diameter approximately 0.7 cm from the neck, then tapering. The top is shaped like a pine cone, and the neck is accented by five decorative horizontal grooves.
