Description
There are two lines of running stitch, parallel to System (1). The outer line, 1 cm from the raw edge, is dark brown 2-ply wool (MLR d, generalised medium), neatly S- plied from weak Z-spun yarns. The inner line, c. 2cm further from the edge, is a thread c. 1.5mm thick, appearing as a cord of 4 very thin weak Z-spun yarns (MLR c, hairy medium), perhaps not plied together. There is no indication of the purpose of this stitching.
