Pondera RO044 pyramidal loom weight

Catalogue number Pondera RO044 Inventory number IG24391 Holding institution Adria, Museo Archeologico Nazionale Description Pyramidal truncated weight made of semi-fine orange-beige clay, rich in tiny black and mica inclusions. The weight is broken in several places; only two edges remain, one front and one side. All measurements therefore indicate the preserved dimensions. In the fracture corresponding to the upper base, a regular ovoid groove can be seen, as if it had been specially shaped to accommodate something ovoid.
