The threads, flattened in cross-section, reflect light, giving the fabric a shiny appearance. The fabric was probably pressed.

Pattern
Multiple bands forming an overall pattern.
Parallel bands are formed by three weft threads inserted into a single shed, separated by two sheds with single picks, following a 3:1:1:3 repeat. The fabric’s condition prevents verification of the complete pattern. The sporadic introduction of groups of five threads appears to be an error.
