Description
The fragment is composed of multiple overlapping layers of different fabrics. The 2/2 twill weave is predominantly observed on both sides, whereas only a small portion of a half-basket weave is visible. No structural connection between the two textiles can be determined.

FURTHER DETAILS
Fleece analysis
The fibres show altered morphology and the disappearance of cuticular scales. Where preserved, the scales show prominent edges with smooth margins. The fibres have an average diameter of 25 μm (min. 12 – max. 43 μm).
